Our Story

ISC has grown from launching in 1999 to a renowned and respected specialist security consultancy that provides effective security solutions for a wide variety of market needs.

Our clients today include major residential, golf, country and eco estates, commercial and industrial developments, upmarket residences and private estates, farms, wind-farms and business parks, accommodations, military and critical infrastructure sites throughout Southern Africa.

SA NAVY: COMMANDER SENIOR STAFF OFFICER INTELLIGENCE

Responsibilities:

  • Management of intelligence and security at Naval Headquarters, all area Commands and Naval Units.
  • Specialist security advisor for commanding officers SAN and Inspector General SANDF
  • Operational security planning for joint SAN and Special Forces operations.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of security at SAN Bases, Harbours, National Key Points and  SAN Units
  • Project and operational security
  • Evaluating guarding and counter insurgency policy and procedures in SA Navy

MAJOR SECURITY PROJECTS:

  • Research and development of new risk analysis techniques and security planning for SANDF. Risk Analysis process presented an implemented as part of SANDF policy.
  • Research and development of security systems with CSIR, Armscor and Special Forces. This was later used to develop current commercial state of the art intelligent security systems.
  • Specialist security adviser to Inspector General SA Navy and SANDF, for the evaluation and improvement of security at National Key Points and SARH harbours
  • Operational testing and evaluation of perimeter and access control systems with CSIR
  • Annual risk analyses and security surveys of national key points, dockyards and naval establishments

SA NAVY: SENIOR STAFF OFFICER COUNTER INTELLIGENCE

Function:

Establish SAN security policy and counter intelligence in the SA Navy

Responsibilities:

Advise Chief of the Navy, Chief of Naval Staff Intelligence, Inspector General SANDF, and Divisional Officers on all aspects of counter intelligence and security management.

Resigned as Commander (SAN) to start own security consulting business.

Function: Criminal Investigation (CID), Crime Intelligence, Counter Insurgency Operations and VIP Protection Divisions.

His career spans various roles in major organisations within South Africa and abroad, including that of Security and Intelligence Officers at Denel (Kentron), the Centurion municipality and SAAD (Saudi Arabia), a Member of WesNel Risk Analysts cc, Senior Staff Officer (Commander) Military Security in the SA Navy and Security Manager Governing Standards and Policies at Standard Bank (PTY) Ltd.

Over 40 years of dedicated security experience and passionate service have furnished Deon with extensive knowledge of security and expertise across a wide range of Security disciplines: physical, technology, information and applications within a broad spectrum of sectors, including Financial-, Governmental-, Health-, Hospitality-, Military-, Industrial Sectors and National Key Points.

  • Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA): The Mandate of PSIRA derives from the Private Security Industry Regulation Act 56 of 2001. The primary objective of the Authority is to regulate the private security industry and to exercise effective control over the practice of the occupation of security service providers in the public and national interest and the private security industry itself.
